About the event
Powerpop mod outfit The Risk are celebrating 40 years together with a UK tour in November and are back to play in Bristol after more than 30 years.
Formed in Guernsey in the mid-1980s by Mark Le Gallez and Colin Leach, The Risk were a prominent band within the second mod revival of the mid-80s, releasing three studio albums on London’s Unicorn Records within two years and a compilation album of rarities in 1989. The band toured the UK, Ireland, Europe and the west coast of California before settling in Bristol in 1988, living in Clifton and then Redland, and played gigs at Le Cav, The King’s Arms, The Salthouse Bar in Clevedon, Moles Club in Bath and a host of London gigs.
